At the request of the municipality, this restaurant, park and children’s playground is based on symbolic content related to the horoscope. The circular plaza, with its fragmented walls, inclining flow of vegetation and strategically placed stones, suggests a relationship between the surrounding mountains and the orbits of the planets. From a conceptual perspective, this park/plaza offers a contemporary version of the classical Japanese concept of inside/outside. It establishes a relationship between the contemplative inner space of the Oriental garden and outer space associated with the Zodiac.
