Antilia 'Vertiscape' Tower
Ambani Family - 2003
This multi-story structure is designed for the Ambani industrial family as a series of public gardens, with a residence on the top level. It responds to Vastu principles in architecture, which are traditionally based on references to the human body and nature. The separate levels are proposed as support tiers for earth, water, air, sound and fire all leading upward toward enlightenment. The main engineering innovation is a cable support system, allowing each floor plane to be built at ground level and then raised into its final aerial position within the tower.
